Duke and Sylvia Holdway
Duke Holdway married Sylvia Franklin after the second world
war,

They owned a nice Singer Le Mans

they lived in Adiscome Road Croydon until the early 50’s
then moved to Purley. The house was designed by Oswald Franklin
Sylvias father.

They have one child Marten Holdway (me) born in 1952. Duke
worked for Paynes sweets for the remainder of his working life
as a salesman, in South London his last territory was
Hampshire it saw the Holdway’s move to Fareham in Hampshire in
1968.

During the War he served in Burma with the Gurkha regiment
as a signals operator.
After they retired my parents moved to The South of France,
they lived in a nice mobile home near Frejus for about 10 years
until mums health got worse.
They now are both still alive and living in Petersfield,
Hampshire (June 2007).
